The Raid: Redemption-Top Action Films 2012
The Raid: Redemption (Indonesian: Serbuan Maut, "deadly raid") is a 2011 Indonesian-American action film written and directed by Gareth Evans and starring Iko Uwais which was released worldwide in March 2012. This is the second collaboration of Evans and Uwais after their first action film, Merantau released in 2009. Both films showcase the traditional Indonesian martial art Pencak Silat. The fight choreographers of The Raid are Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian who also worked on Merantau. The U.S. release of the film features music by Mike Shinoda of nu metal band Linkin Park and Joseph Trapanese. After its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), critics and audience alike hailed The Raid as one of the best action films in years. Due to a trademark issue in the U.S. and the plan of a trilogy, the original English title for U.S. distribution has been slightly changed to The Raid: Redemption.

The Raid: Redemption was the best action martial arts guns galore movie I've ever seen. See the video!

The Raid: Redemption. The knives and sticks fighting scenes were absolutely incredible. The plot is simple enough. A tactical squad of cops go floor by floor in an enormous apartment building to get to the top where the big bad leader lives. Little do they know, he's watching it all on monitors. When he gets on the building speaker's to announce that anyone who kills the cops gets to live there for free, all hell breaks loose. Non-stop action right from the get go. I can't recommend The Raid enough!
